Holly has been working with our community for more than five years. Leveraging the power of storytelling, she helped staff gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their role with the goal of improving their wellbeing. She is an excellent visionary and a mature guide who brings a sense of calm in otherwise chaotic situations.
mohammed mohammed, Program officer, Fetzer Institute
Holly has a unique ability to bring out the vulnerable in each one of us. In a world that moves so quickly with significant uncertainty, Holly provides space to help us take a breath and reflect- not for the purpose of slowing down, but for the purpose of spiritually reinforcing our convictions.
mANU MEEL, CEO, BRIDGEUSA
Holly's storytelling game allowed our team to get to know each other very quickly in a way that felt comfortable and unrushed for our team. Holly is a gifted facilitator who was able to guide our team through layers of meaning, purpose, and resilience practices at the individual and collective level.
Kelli Herrick, Director of Talent Strategy, Future Caucus
Holly created and led a 2 hour storytelling event for us, with the objective of fostering human connections... Everyone who attended reported that it was an enjoyable experience and that they each felt much more connected to each other, even in such a short time.
Holly took great care in designing and creating the event for our audience, in creating a very, very safe environment for participants during the event, and masterfully led the group through the process. We were so impressed and happy with the results that we have engaged Holly to come back and do more such events...

The storytelling workshop allowed me to connect with people I work with on a much different level...As opposed to the effort it sometimes takes to get to know people at social events, the connection I felt to people at the storytelling workshop was effortless.
Megan Caram, Md, University of Michigan
I’ve had the privilege to work with Holly on multiple Photovoice program trainings. Holly’s organization kept the projects focused and her leadership kept participants feeling inspired.
Darby monks, LMSW Community mental health therapist
Holly MaKimaa was a breath of fresh air for a recent strategic planning retreat in which I participated. The presentation provided several very useful and relatable stress reduction and relaxation techniques. We were delicately guided through several thought provoking exercises which helped to identify areas of improvement in a non-thrieatening, non-judgmental way.
